Transponder Info
Transponders are Currently (2022) required at Adobe Mountain Speedway for the following cars:
All NOW600's
Jr Sprints
WMR, Mini Lates, Dwarfs (other cars running the same night as NOW600s)
and these karts
AZ Predator 212 Sealed, Unsealed, Opens
Starting in 2023, all Cars and Karts will be required to run Transponders
(the only exception will be Motorcycles, and classes running with the bikes such as Champ Karts)
AMS has 30 transponders available for rent, $20 each. We've had nights when all 30 have been rented, so we're encouraging drivers to purchase their own (plus the ROI is pretty quick).
ALL PAYOUTS WILL BE DISTRIBUTED ONCE ALL RENTAL TRANSPONDERS HAVE BEEN RETURNED, and no payouts will go to drivers not having a working transponder
Transponders currently supported by the AMS Timing Systems are Mylaps TR2 (Red, Car/Bike) and Mylaps X2 (Red Car/Bike). The TR2 Yellow (kart) and TR2 Orange (MX) will not work with the AMS timing system
Mylaps is discontinuing the X2 transponders

The transponders must be registered and charged to be used. The registration process is fairly straight forward, it requires an mobile phone with Bluetooth and a charged transponder. See the FAQs on mylaps.com
After the subscription runs out, renewals are (as of Oct 2022):
1 year $108
2 year $162
5 year $325
These transponders have a warranty for as long as you keep the subscription current
(and we've seen failures 2 or 3 years after the purchase). Its fairly easy to get a failed transponder fixed, see the warranty info on mylaps.com
Purchasing from other retailers is OK, you'll still get the MyLaps warranty and you'll still have to register your transponder thru mylaps.com. Here are a few to try:
